DYE Issues Recall on Select M4+ Bolt Engines – Free Replacement Program Announced

DYE has issued a voluntary recall on approximately 1,200 M4+ bolt engines manufactured between January and March 2026. The recall affects units with serial numbers M4P-2100 through M4P-3300.

The Problem:

A manufacturing defect in the bolt guide can cause inconsistent velocity and, in rare cases, bolt stick (failure to fully cycle). DYE has received 47 customer reports but no injuries.

The Fix:

DYE is offering a free replacement bolt engine to all affected customers. Shipping is covered both ways.

How to Check If You’re Affected:

  1. Look at your M4+ serial number (located on the right side of the body)
  2. If between M4P-2100 and M4P-3300, visit DYE’s recall portal
  3. Enter your serial number and shipping address
  4. DYE sends a prepaid shipping label
  5. Ship your bolt engine only (not the entire marker)
  6. Receive replacement within 7-10 business days

Key Highlights:

  • 1,200 units affected
  • Serial numbers M4P-2100 through M4P-3300
  • Free replacement bolt engine
  • DYE covers all shipping costs
  • No injuries reported
  • Turnaround time: 7-10 business days

Official Statement from DYE:

“Player safety and performance are our top priorities. While the defect does not pose a safety risk, inconsistent performance is unacceptable. We are making this right at no cost to our customers.”

What If You Bought Used?

DYE will honor the recall regardless of original ownership. No receipt required. Only the serial number matters.
